Car Insurance can be simplified once you begin to understand the declarations page. The declarations page is issued every time your car policy renews. The information on your renewal declarations page will give you all you need to know about how your policy is rated. The actual policy is very complicated because it is written in legal language. The declarations page is a synopsis of your protection and is divided into sections.

Section I Liability This section indicates the bodily injury and property damage liability limits. This section of coverage protects you in the event that you are found liable in an automobile accident. Most car insurance policies have split limits. 10030050 is a common split limit. The first two limits are the bodily injury limits. The 100,000 refers to the amount per person bodily injury liability limit and 300,000 is the amount per accident limit. The third limit is the property damage liability limit of 50,000.

Tort Option Some states have a tort option. Full tort gives you an expanded right to sue for pain and suffering. Limited Tort limits that right and also reduces your overall premium.

Section II Physical Damage – This section is all about the physical damage to your automobiles. It is divided into two basic benefits. Collision insurance covers damage to your vehicle in an automobile accident. Comprehensive insurance covers your vehicle for theft, hitting an animal, glass coverage, fire, and several other miscellaneous occurrences.

Section III First Part Benefits This section applies to the first party insured and all resident relatives. This can vary from state to state. Medical expense, income loss, and life insurance are examples of first party benefits.

Cost Savings Your greatest risk for financial loss is when you are liable in a car accident and so it is not wise to carry low limits for liability. Higher deductibles for collision and comprehensive are an excellent way to reduce costs. Make sure that your home policy is with the same company in order to qualify for the multiple policy discounts. The limited tort option can save you up to 20%. The tort discount is only available in some states.

Yes, you may want to consider a long term care insurance plan if you dont want to drain your retirement savings and other investments in the future! It is currently estimated that nursing home costs are more than 10,000 per month. Imagine, how much this will cost you on an annual basis if you had to pay this money out of your pocket if you needed care from a nursing home! This would be financially devastating without long term care insurance.

Did you know that prior to the passage of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, most Americans were able to count on Medicaid to assist them with long term health care. The Deficit Reduction Act changes all of that. This new law places the majority of long term health care costs on you, especially if you have assets. Unfortunately, middle class Americans will be hit the hardest with this new law.

How does the Deficit Reduction Act affect me if I need nursing home care and have assets? Well, for the most part, you will need to exhaust your assets before you will be eligible for Medicaid. Under this new law, there is a five year look back period from the date that you apply for your Medicaid benefits. This five year look back period, is to ensure that you have not transferred assets to relatives, friends, or other individuals. If you have transferred your assets to someone, Medicaid will count this against you and you will have a period of penalty wherein you will not qualify for benefits. Basically, this means that you could be out of money and Medicaid will not pay for your nursing home care!

The other side of this new law is that even if you have not transferred your assets to someone, you cannot have more than 500,00 in home equity. The majority of your assets including trusts and annuities are viewed differently under this new law.

It is important, that you consider long term care insurance as part of your retirement planning. With passage of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, it is a must! Unless you are independently wealthy and dont mind coming out of your pocket with more than 10,000 per month for your prospective nursing home care! For the average person, this would be a severe financial hardship.

What age should I consider getting a long term care insurance plan? You may want to consider in your early to mid fifties. However, it is recommended that you consult your insurance agent or financial advisor about this.

Planning is important, in order to assist you in eliminating a potentially devastating financial disaster. You want to live out the golden years of your retirement as stress free as possible. So make sure you plan for your future long term health care needs!

Everyone who owns a car needs auto insurance. This article will give you some tips on lowering your auto insurance costs. You will find a checklist of items to ask your insurance agent that may qualify for discounts. Keep in mind that not all discounts can be applied with all insurance companies in all states.

1.Shop Around

Go to your favorite search engine and type in “free car insurance quotes online”. You’ll see a long list of insurance companies that you may even be familiar with. Visit at least five car insurance websites and look for a link to free quotes. You will then be asked basic information about yourself, your driving history, and your car’s make, model, and year. It just takes a couple of minutes, and shortly thereafter, they will email you a no obligation quote. Write down their website address, their toll free number, and customer service email address.

Each insurance company will ask you generally the same questions, and will give you options about how much coverage you will want. Find your current policy, if you have one, and take note of the coverage you currently have. Always provide the same information and ask for the same coverage at each company so you will be comparing apples to apples. Read the fine print and make sure nothing is excluded from the quote like Rental car coverage, towing, medical, etc…

For the purposes of the quote, the insurance company will not ask you your social security number, but keep in mind your actual cost maybe higher or lower depending on your credit history. If you’re not sure about some of the terminology or coverage, take notes so that you can ask the insurance company about them directly.

Once you have at least five quotes emailed to you, take the lowest two or three quotes and see if they are less than what you are paying now. Most likely at least one of them is much lower. At this point you will want to call them directly to get the most accurate quote by providing additional personal information. For additional discounts, here is a checklist of things you should ask about.

2.Saving Insurance Premium on cars you own outright.

If you own a clear title to your car, meaning there is no bank loan on it, then you may want to consider dropping the collisioncomprehensive coverage. As a rule of thumb, if the cars value is less than 3000, it may not make sense for you to pay for this additional coverage. Over time, the cost of the additional insurance premium will exceed the value of the car. It’s pretty simple math.

Check the fair market value of your car either through Edmunds.com or even your local newspaper. See what other people are trying to get for the same car. Keep in mind your cars mileage, condition, and age. Has it been in an accident before? Does it have unusually high mileage in excess of 15,000 miles per year? Does it need new tires? You get the idea. Be realistic, because in the event that this car is in an accident and is damaged beyond repair, it is unlikely you will get the full value of the car.

3.Ask About Insurance Rates in Different Areas

Rates can vary widely even in the same state. Different locals have different accident rates, population, and crime. These all factor in to the final cost. If you are moving to a different area, ask about what the rates are for that town.

4.Ask About Getting Other Insurance Policies Together With Your Auto Insurance

Combining insurance policies with the same company can often give you additional discounts. If you own a home, ask about combining your homeowners insurance with your auto insurance. Also ask about other polices, such as life, health, and business insurance. Most insurance companies cover a wide range of policies and will give substantial discounts when you do business exclusively with them.

5.A Clean Credit History Can Reduce Car Premiums:

Having good credit can also lower your insurance costs. Many insurance companies will use credit information to price auto insurance policies. Drivers with good credit and a clean driving record may qualify as a “preferred” customer with lower risk and will be rewarded with lower premiums.

6.Low Mileage Discounts

Some companies offer discounts to drivers who drive a lower than average number of miles per year. If you car pool, take public transportation like the subway, or work from home, you will most likely drive few miles per year than the average driver.

7.Group Insurance

Some insurers offer discounts to drivers who work for certain companies or belong to professional associations, and alumni groups. Ask your employer, group or clubs that you belong to if they have any special arrangements with different insurance companies.

Using all of these tips can save you hundreds of pounds per year, especially when you have multiple cars and multiple drivers in the same household.

The AARP insurance is a long-term policy that rises above common coverage of Medicare. These plans help you to discover solutions to care for your loved ones. AARP insurance covers anyone over the age 50. These policies will provide you with benefits, such as membership. Membership benefits often mean that you only pay less than 100 annually. Your spouse may also benefit from these insurance plans.

These long-term insurance plans often give you benefits and discounts. The policyholder sometimes has access to homeowner coverage, health coverage, and auto coverage. In addition, the policyholder may receive services from online, such as music, travel, grocery savings, computer savings and other benefits.

AARP supplies the policyholder with advocacies. The advocacies are often in Washington, which these people will represent you. The representation will cover purchased safety, Medicare issues and social security issues.

This long-term insurance provides you with advocacies that give you advice on living healthier. You receive plans for financing, protection over purchase, living healthier advice and tips for parents in taking care of their loved ones.

Because cost increases occur annually, especially in nursing home care Medicare will only provide minimal care to the patient. The patient must pay the remaining balance of his or her care from his social security benefits. AARP insurance steps in to battle this problem.

The long-term care insurance protects the policyholder’s investments as well as their savings. This policy will preserve your freedom. Unlike common Medicare, this plan enables you to opt for any nursing home you choose. In other words, Medicare recipients only qualify for selected nursing homes as required by the providers.

You have a broader option in AARP insurance. This long-term plan covers payments or expenses of your healthcare that you receive at home, in spite of who you have as a caregiver. This plan will also cover nursing home expenses, adult care, or any facilities that provide care for elderly.

You have other benefits with the long-term insurance policy. You can opt for flex plans that will accommodate your needs. If you are on a strict budget, AARP insurance providers will find a plan and coverage to fit your needs.

Common Medicare does not cover extensive needs in healthcare for the older generation. This is a huge problem, since many elderly people are not getting the health care they need. Too many people die earlier because of this problem.

If you are searching for healthcare coverage then AARP is the route you may want to take. Rather than worrying over your aged parent, you can rest knowing that your loved one is getting the care that they need.

What is gap car insurance and how do you know whether you really need it? Gap car insurance, like many other types of insurance isnt necessarily required. That is to say that you can certainly purchase a new car without gap car insurance; however, you could be leaving yourself open for some losses if you dont purchase it. Read on for more tips to better understand whether you need gap car insurance or you can skip it.

Gap car insurance covers the difference between the market value of your car and your loan amount. Arent the two the same, you might ask. Not necessarily. You see, the moment you drive your car off the lot it depreciates, or loses value, immediately and quite significantly. Lets say you purchase a new car and pay 25,000 for it. On average a car will depreciate at least 20% right after it leaves the dealership. That means your brand new car is now worth only 20,000. What happens if you have an accident soon after the purchase? Even if you have full insurance coverage, including comprehensive and collision, your insurance policy will still only cover the market value of the car. Unfortunately, even though the market value and insurance policy are now worth only 20,000 you still owe in the neighborhood of 25,000 for the car. Without gap car insurance youll be stuck covering that additional 5,000 on your own.

Be aware that not all gap car insurance policies are the same and this is important. For example, some gap car insurance policies will cover losses due to theft and accidents but not all so be sure to ask questions regarding specifically what is covered in the policy before you take it.

Usually, gap car insurance is a good idea if you are about to purchase a new car and are concerned that you wouldnt be able to cover the difference between the market value and the amount that would be cover by the C&C policy. Be aware that gap insurance is not available for older vehicles in most cases.

While youre certainly not required to take out gap car insurance by your lender or the dealer, it can help you to rest easier in knowing you wont be stuck owing thousands of pounds on a totaled car in the event that you suffer an accident or theft shortly after the purchase.

It is also important to understand that if you finance your car through the dealership you can usually take out gap car insurance at the time of the purchase; however, youll probably end up paying more for the policy than if you simply took it out with your regular auto insurance agent.

Before taking out gap car insurance, always be sure to check your existing policy to find out whether gap insurance might already be contained within that policy. You never know, it might not necessary to purchase an additional policy at all. If its not included, give some thought to whether the price of the gap insurance would be worth the trade-off of not having to worry if you have an accident and cant afford to pay the difference between market value and coverage amount with a regular policy.
